The Master of Maritime Law programme offers a dynamic and comprehensive academic experience, and is available through either coursework or full research, and with a pathway to doctoral studies in this specialised field. Covering the full breadth of maritime law, the programme includes modules in admiralty jurisdiction and practice, carriage of goods by sea, navigation incidents (such as collisions and salvage), law of the sea, marine insurance, international trade law, and marine environmental law.
The Master of Commerce in Maritime Studies programme is designed to meet the need for practitioners in this industry and other interested stakeholders to develop specialised knowledge of Maritime Economics, Laws, policies, and procedures relating to the maritime industry in South Africa and elsewhere.
The purpose of the programme is to provide postgraduate students with a vehicle to engage with the economic and legal dynamics of the maritime transport industry, at a level appropriate to a postgraduate diploma programme.
